Kent Cricket is pleased to confirm that Porchlight, Kent’s leading homelessness charity, will be the Club’s Charity Partner throughout the 2023 & 2024 seasons.

Porchlight work with more than 9,000 individuals & families every year, providing a lifeline to people who are experiencing homelessness, poverty, mental ill health and social exclusion.

The Kent Cricket Community Trust has previously linked with Porchlight this year to co-ordinate taster cricket sessions, coached by the Club’s Community Team, to some of the people that the charity has helped, & Kent Cricket has also hosted an aforementioned Christmas lunch for people Porchlight works with at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence for many years.

This partnership for 2023 & 2024 will enable the Club to work closer than ever with the charity, with increased opportunities for fundraising to help Porchlight in their mission to help vulnerable people find stability, ensure the most excluded are included, & help to make homelessness & poverty things of the past.

Andy Griffiths, Director of Partnerships at Kent Cricket, said: “We’re really excited to announce this new working relationship with Porchlight, a charity that does some astounding work in our home city of Canterbury.

“We hope that our fundraising efforts across the next two years help the charity to continue to do great things to help those in need, and we’re looking forward to the support that our Members and supporters will give to Porchlight in the coming few months.

“I’d also like to thank Air Ambulance Kent Surrey Sussex for being our Charity Partners in 2021 & 2022 – we’ve enjoyed working closely together and it’s another very worthwhile cause.”

Kate Boulding, Corporate Partnerships Manager at Porchlight, said: “Porchlight is thrilled to be Kent Cricket’s Charity Partner. We’re excited to continue working with the Club and know this official partnership will be valuable in many ways.

“The rise in living costs means more people are requiring our services and at the same time Porchlight is facing cuts to its funding, Kent Cricket’s support is coming at a critical time. We so appreciate them helping to raise the profile of our work and vital funds, as well as providing opportunities and activities for our clients.”
