Here is the third and final instalment of our round-up of 2016 at Kent Cricket…

SEPTEMBER

· Sam Northeast is named Kent Player and Batsman of the Year prizes at the Spitfire Kent Cricket Awards. Matt Coles won best bowler, Alex Blake was named best fielder and Daniel Bell-Drummond was the Iconic by Fitzgerald One-Day Player of the Year.

· Suzie Bates won Canterbury Christ Church University Player and Batsman of the Year after helping Kent to a domestic double with Megan Belt best bowler and Lydia Greenway earning another Fielder of the Year prize.

· Tash Farrant to play for Western Fury in the Women's National Cricket League in Australia.

OCTOBER

· Jimmy Adams announces he is to leave the post of Kent head coach and return to Jamaica.

· Kent Women receive the Lady Taverners trophy from HRH Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace

· Will Gidman joins Kent on a permanent basis after an impressive loan spell from Nottinghamshire

· All-rounder Darren Stevens and seamer Charlie Hartley sign contract extensions.

· Seamers David Griffiths and Sam Weller leave the club.

· Double-winning all-rounder Alice Davidson-Richards earns a call-up to the England Academy training squad

NOVEMBER

· Kent’s Tammy Beaumont and Laura Marsh helps England to series win in Sri Lanka to seal place in 2017 Women’s World Cup.

· The West Indies Cricket Board invite Kent to take part in their Regional Super 50 one-day competition in Antigua in January 2017. Aylesford-based FGS Plant sign as tour sponsor.

· Former Kent all-rounder Charles Rowe is confirmed as Kent President for 2017.

· Construction firm WW Martin becomes major sponsor of One-Day Cup squad and Samurai Sportswear extends kit supply contract with the club.

· Teenage batsman Isaac Dilkes added to Kent Cricket Academy squad for 2016/17.

· Concerts by UB40 and Olly Murs at The Spitfire Ground in June/July 2017 announced

DECEMBER

· Sam Billings named in England ODI and T20 squads to play series in India in January 2017, Daniel Bell-Drummond named in England Lions ODI squad to play Sri Lanka A in February/March 2017.

· Tammy Beaumont, Tash Farrant and Laura Marsh awarded two-year England central contracts.

· Daniel Bell-Drummond and Sam Northeast join Matt Coles in the South squad to play a North XI in Abu Dhabi in March 2017

· Charlotte Edwards leaves Kent after 16 seasons at the club to join second division Hampshire

· Matt Coles helps Dhaka Dynamites to Bangladesh Premier League title

· Sam Billings averages 41 in three Big Bash League appearances for Sydney Sixers, Tammy Beaumont plays for Adelaide Strikers in Women's BBL.

· New McCarthy & Stone development at the ground to be named Freeman House, in honour of Kent’s all-time record wicket-taker, Alfred “Tich” Freeman
