Adams sticks with same 13 for Glamorgan match

Head Coach Jimmy Adams has stuck with the same 13 man squad who tied with Surrey last night, in dramatic style, at the Kia Oval for tonight’s Royal London One-Day Cup fixture against Glamorgan. The Kent Spitfires have a fast turnaround as they head back Canterbury, with Adams happy to show faith in this men. ‘It was quite a match with over 600 runs scored. It looked like the lads were going to make it, then not and then two great balls at the end to get the tie. It’s a short competition so we just need to keep performing,’ stated Adams.

The tie was the second between Kent and Surrey in their 68 List A match history, and keeps the Spitfires well in the hunt for quarter-final contention. They are on equal top points with Somerset and Notts, five, but listed third on run rate, with a game in hand on Somerset, having played three, won two and the Surrey tie. Glamorgan are directly below them on the table having played three, for two wins and a single loss.

The two Counties have faced each other 50 times in limited over matches and yes, there has been a tie – one. Kent lead the way with 35 victories to the Welsh sides, 13, one no result and the single tie.

The match begins 2.00pm, Wednesday 6 August, at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, Canterbury.
