An intimate gathering with ex-Kent fast bowler Alan Brown

Former Kent bowler Alan Brown will be the special guest at a day of cricketing chat in the Les Ames hospitality boxes at the upcoming LV= County Championship match against Derbyshire.

He was a member of the 1970 Championship-winning side and will entertain guests over a three-course lunch with wine, morning and afternoon tea on Monday 8 June.

With Norman Graham, John Dye, and David Sayer as part of a formidable quartet of seam bowlers. He took 743 first-class wickets in a career that lasted from 1957 to 1970. His most successful season was in 1965 when he took 114 wickets at 19.07.

Alan made his Kent debut in 1957 and was the engine room man of the Kent attack in the late 1950s and 1960s.

He was a major figure in his last season in 1970 when Kent won their first championship since 1913.
