Baz’s bat guide: size matters

Sunday 26th October 2014

Kent Cricket Shop manager Barrie Dyer continues his guide to bats and in the second part, he looks at sizes.

It is very important, especially for juniors to pick the right size cricket bat. Many juniors try and buy a size bigger than they need as the bat looks bigger and has a bigger profile.

I personally believe it is better for the child to have a smaller bat as it will not be too heavy for them plus they can manoeuvre the bat around better and therefore play a lot more shots, especially the hook and pull shot.

The sizing is purely based on the height of the individual.
