Beaumont and Marsh help England to win ODI series in West Indies

Kent duo Tammy Beaumont and Laura Marsh helped England to a fine 3-2 one-day international series win in the West Indies.

The tourists sealed a five-wicket win against the T20 champions in Jamaica after the hosts twice squared the series.

Kent opener Beaumont scored 34 as England comfortably chased 156 to win after county colleague Marsh conceded just 29 runs scored from her ten-over spell to restrict West Indies’ scoring.

Middlesex spinner Alex Hartley was the pick of the attack with 4/24 and Surrey all-rounder Georgia Elwiss top-scored with a fluent 50.

England women will now have a short break before taking on Sri Lanka in their final round of the ICC Women’s Championship next month wiith one more win required to secure qualification for the 2017 World Cup in England.

All three matches in that series will take place at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium (RPICS) in Colombo on 12th, 15th and 17th November.
