Ben Montague to support Simply Red at Spitfire Ground gig

Kent singer-songwriter Ben Montague will play on home turf as he joins Simply Red at their concert on Saturday 18th June at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury.
With tickets now available to purchase from just £32.50, the Farnborough musician's addition to the line-up only adds to a wonderful evening of live music as part of Simply Red's Big Love 30th Anniversary tour.

Ben's musical career began in 2010 when the singles from what would become his first album ‘Overcome’ received high praise from UK Radio stations including extensive support on BBC Radio 2.
In the past Ben has performed with the likes of The Lighthouse Family, playing as main support in Academy venues, alongside Stereophonics as a part of F1 Rocks, and later on The Code Tour 2012 with The Wanted and Lawson.
In 2015 Ben enjoyed an incredible year as support to Simply Red, Suzanne Vega and Boyzone plus a full UK and Ireland tour of his own, and he is now back with a new single ‘We Start Over’, which not only made Record of the Week on BBC Radio 2 but has also stayed on their B List for six weeks.
Ben Montague said: “Having toured with Simply Red last year on their Big Love tour, which was brilliant fun, I am so pleased to be joining them once again at the Kent concert. It is such an honour to work with one of our country’s most iconic bands and to be a part of their 30th anniversary come-back.”
Simply Red performed a series of dates in 2015 to celebrate their 30th anniversary coupled with the release of their album ‘Big Love’. The tour continues in 2016 due to popular demand and will include a special performance at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence, home of Kent County Cricket Club, on Saturday 18 June.
