Blazing Blake shines again as Second XI does the double over Sussex

Alex Blake scored at a rapid rate as several Kent players warmed up for NatWest T20 Blast action with two wins in a second XI T20 doubleheader against Sussex at Horsham.
In the first game, Kent skittled the hosts for 110 with Matt Hunn dismissing both openers on his way to 3-15 from 20 balls.
Imran Qayyum continued his fine form with 3-14 and Adam Ball took 2-21 from their four-over allocations.
In reply, Alex Blake blazed four sixes in a 31-ball 44 was ably supported by opening partner Ryan Davies’ 25 off 26 balls as Kent eased to a six wicket win with 5.4 overs to spare.
The second game followed a similar pattern as Blake invited Sussex to bat with the visitors restricting Sussex to 130 for five.
Although the hosts fared better second time round, Mitch Claydon’s 1-17 off four overs and Matt Hunn 0-9 off two overs restricted the scoring before Dan Smith and spin duo Qayyum and J Bassan took a wicket apiece.
Skipper Blake was in bullish mood in reply with four fours and two sixes in a 20-ball 32, a strike rate of 160 per 100 balls.
Ryan Davies hit a flowing 58 not out off 41 balls, joined by Adam Ball, who smashed a 28-ball 41 to steer Kent to a nine-wicket win with 5.1 overs to spare.
