Catch IT seemed a natural fit with a cricket club and so it has turned out to be.

The Herne Bay technology company that specialises in providing managed services, professional services, IT support and the provision of IT software and hardware have signed a three-year partnership with Kent County Cricket Club.

The firm has now taken over management of Kent Cricket’s computer network, used by the Club’s 25 office staff.

Kent Cricket CEO Jamie Clifford said: “The link to the name was humorous and the option for partnership became even stronger when we started negotiations. Our key point of contact was Kent sportsman Sam Denly, brother of Kent batsman Joe.

“Like every modern business we are very dependent on having a robust, up to date computer network and infrastructure.

"Most of our tickets sell online and on match day we have to be able provide world-class facilities for members of the media. We have been very impressed by Catch IT’s proposal, track record and work so far during this early period."

Catch IT account manager Sam Denly is manager of Herne Bay FC and plays cricket for Whitstable following in the footsteps of his father Nick, who encouraged the boys to pick up a bat.

Managing Director Toby Roy said: “We are so pleased to be working in partnership with Kent Cricket.

“Catch IT has more than 50 years combined experience and our strengths are in our understanding of what small to medium enterprises need.

"We have a virtually all-Kentish workforce and extremely excited to be working with our County Club.

“It is not just Sam that has a passion for cricket, we all look forward to being part of the Kent Cricket team and helping them in their drive to succeed on the sports field.”
