Darren Stevens to play for Comilla Victorians

Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens will play for Comilla Victorians in the Bangladesh Premier League next month.

The 39-year-old will play alongside Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik, Sri Lanka batsman Lahiru Thirimane and West Indies duo Andre Russell and Sunil Narine.

The Victorians will be coached by Mohammad Salahuddin and mentored by Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram.

The BPL draft, scheduled for Monday 26 October, was brought forward to allow the six franchises time to prepare for the tournament starting on Sunday 22 November.

Several county cricketers have been drafted including Dawid Malan of Middlesex, Dimitri Mascarenhas and Fidel Edwards of Hampshire, Chris Jordan of Sussex, Ryan ten Doeschate of Essex, Niall and Kevin O'Brien of Leicestershire and Brendan Taylor of Nottinghamshire.

Paceman Matt Coles withdrew his BPL application after undergoing a minor operation on a foot injury this week.
