Former England selector Geoff Miller to give State of Play speech

Tuesday 10th February 2015

Former England all-rounder and national selector Geoff Miller OBE will give the keynote speech at Kent Cricket’s State of Play dinner on Thursday 9 April.

The former Derbyshire and Essex player played 34 Tests between 1976 and 1984 before becoming England selector from 2008 to 2013.

Expect tales of England’s Ashes wins and the World Twenty20 triumph, whoopee cushions and maybe even anecdotes about Kevin Pietersen in the wake of his controversial KP book.

All Out Cricket magazine described Miller as "one of the best after-dinner speakers on the circuit".

The annual black tie event, sponsored by Spitfire Kentish Ale, is the traditional curtain-raiser to the season and will be held at 7pm in the JM Recruitment Harris Room at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

The three-course meal includes champagne and canapés on arrival, beer, wines and a cheeseboard for £100 per person or £850 for a table of ten.
