Matt Hunn (pictured above) took two wickets and academy scholar Zak Crawley hit a 50 as Kent’s second XI drew with Yorkshire in a rain-affected friendly at Polo Farm.

Hunn’s impressive eight-over spell yielded just 17 runs and picked up the wickets of Elliot Callis and England Under 19 batsman Mosun Hussain to help reduce the visitors to 49-3.

Wicketkeeper Dan Hodgson and England Under-19 all-rounder Ryan Gibson added 113 for the fourth wicket before left armer Imran Qayyum dismissed Gibson, caught Hunn for 72.

England Lions spinner Adam Riley and England Under 19 seamer Hugh Bernard also had a cameo to demonstrate the strength in depth in Kent’s ranks before Yorkshire declared at lunch.

Several players from each side were withdrawn to prepare for the NatWest T20 Blast opener at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

In reply, Australian Nick Selman and South African Sean Dickson hit half centuries as did Academy scholar Crawley, batting at 3.

The seconds reached 206-2 before a mini-collapse and some batting practice for Riley, Hunn, Qayyum and Charlie Hartley before the sides shook hands.
