Joe Denly hits double hundred for Sydney

Joe Denly smashed a double hundred for Sydney against Northern District in the New South Wales First Grade competition.

The 30-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate hit 19 fours and five sixes in an innings of 222 on day one of a two-day match.

The Canterbury-born right hander achieved the landmark in 2016 at Northampton and repeated the feat as he continues his preparations for the 2017 season Down Under.

He will remain in Australia until pre-season starts in March while the majority of the first team squad go on the FGS Plant Tour to the West Indies.
