Men’s First Team

Kent Cricket’s 2015 schedule will feature 54 days of cricket in Kent including a unique Australian double-header at Canterbury and the return to The County Ground, Beckenham.

The Australian men play their first Ashes tour fixture on June 25-28 in the middle of a busy domestic calendar.

Kent open their LV= County Championship campaign with trips to Essex and Lancashire before their first home game against Leicestershire at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Sunday, May 3.

Friday night is NatWest T20 Blast night starting on Friday, May 15 with the visit of Sussex to Canterbury.

Beckenham will host two Friday evening T20 Blast clashes against local rivals Surrey on May 29 and Gloucestershire on June 5 either side of a LV= Championship match against Surrey on May 24-27.

The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence will still host the bulk of the cricket with visits from both the Australian touring sides in an exciting Ashes summer included in most Kent memberships.

Canterbury Week, the world’s oldest cricket festival, begins on Sunday, August 2 with a Royal London One-Day Cup clash with Sussex.

The four-day LV= Championship game returns to the week after feedback from Members and Supporters, with Northamptonshire the opponents on Tuesday to Friday August 4-7.

A 50-over clash against Lancashire closes the week before the bonus of Canterbury’s first Test Match with England v Australia women on August 11-14.

Kent Cricket CEO Jamie Clifford said: “2015 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Kent Cricket. The fixture programme has a good range of matches.

“Hosting the opening game of the men’s Ashes tour and our first ever Test Match as England play Australia in the only Women’s Ashes Test in an extended Canterbury Week is a huge honour for the Club.

“The new facilities at Beckenham will not only help the Club bring through new talent but also host top-class games in metropolitan Kent.

“Supporters who live and work in London, North and West Kent will have more cricket on their doorstep with a new 2,000-seater stand at Beckenham providing great views of the action and improved hospitality facilities.

“We will be back at Tunbridge Wells and Canterbury Cricket Week returns to its traditional format with the LV= Championship game on weekdays and weekend daytime Royal London One-Day Cup games.”

The Tunbridge Wells Festival will take place in late July with Essex the visitors and a potential two limited-overs games subject to commercial agreements.

Essex are the visitors in the LV= Championship on July 19-22 with a potential Natwest T20 Blast match v Glamorgan and a Royal London One-Day Cup clash versus Essex on July 26 subject to a commercial partnership being agreed.

With 54 days of cricket in 2015, there’s a Kent Membership for everyone with entry to both Australia games included in Kent All Rounder and Championship Plus Memberships and an option for Six Pack package holders.

Together we are Kent.
