Kent name squad for One-Day Cup quarter-final v Yorkshire (Thu, 2pm)

Kent Spitfires have named a 12-man squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup quarter-final against Yorkshire on Thursday (18 August, 2pm start) at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

Darren Stevens is set to make his 500th appearance for Kent in all formats for the visit of the county champions in front of a packed house at Canterbury.

The 40-year-old all-rounder is celebrating his benefit year and has taken 567 wickets and scored almost 18,000 runs for the club since arriving in 2005.

Paceman Charlie Hartley returns to the squad after a man-of-the-match display in his last appearance at The Spitfire Ground and fine form in the second XI.

David Griffiths is sidelined with a calf injury and Fabian Cowdrey is still recovering from having surgery to remove his appendix.

Kent Spitfires have won seven of their last nine List A games against Yorkshire Vikings including the last three in a row.

The Vikings have won 10 of their last 12 away games (L2), although they did lose on their last venture outside of Yorkshire (v Durham)

Yorkshire have reached the quarter-finals for the third year in a row, as have Kent, Essex are the only other side to achieve this same feat.

Alex Blake (Kent) needs 13 runs to reach 1,000 in List A cricket

Kent’s Matt Coles was the leading wicket-taker in the group stages, taking 21 scalps at an average of 18 and economy of 5.4.
