Kent quartet enjoy wins in Queensland First Grade

Ivan Thomas took two wickets as Sam Northeast led Sunshine Coast Scorchers to a first-innings win.

In reply to Ipswich/Logan’s 133, the Scorchers posted 275 for five including 22 from Kent vice-captain Northeast off 35 balls.

Thomas removed both openers in his opening spell and finished with figures of two for 32 off 19.1 overs including seven maidens.

Brendan Nash and Daniel Bell-Drummond were on the winning side again for Northern Suburbs.

After scoring 92 and 85 respectively in a total of 392 last week, the Norths dismissed Toombul for 338 to secure a 54-run win.

Adam Ball scored 10 off 32 balls for Redlands Tigers as they lost on first innings at home to Valley.

Tigers were all out for 138 in reply to the visitors’ first innings of 224.

Batting again, Valley scored 78 for two with Ball bowling five overs for 15 runs including a maiden.
