More than 1,500 children are expected to see Kent Spitfires on Tuesday for the Countrystyle Recycling Schools Day Out (11am start).

There will be cricket activities at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence to inspire the next generation to enjoy the sport, courtesy of our community cricket coaches and sponsors Countrystyle Recycling.

Kent Spitfires have named a 13-man squad for the Royal London One-Day Cup with paceman David Griffiths rested after several matches in a busy period of white-ball cricket.

Fabian Cowdrey, Matt Hunn and Ivan Thomas in contention to come into the side for the 50-over match.

Sam Billings found form in his last two outings at home with a fine 50 against Hampshire before an unbeaten 53-ball century on Sunday against Somerset.

The 24-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate said: "Games are coming thick and fast but we’re not far away at all as a side – that’s the positive. The batters are in good form, we have just to to put it all together.

"The bowlers performed magnificently last week against Hampshire and Sussex in the T20, it's just about putting performances with bat and ball."
