Kent trio selected for Women’s T20 Super League squads

Three Kent Women’s players will play in a new T20 league this summer.

Tunbridge Wells all-rounder Alice Davidson-Richards, Lewisham seamer Grace Gibbs and former England wicketkeeper and Kent fielder of the year Lauren Griffiths will represent the Lightning, Diamonds and Stars sides respectively.

The trio join Kent’s five current England internationals during a three-week break from the county season in late July.

Each of the Super League teams has today named a playing squad of 15, which comprises three or four England women’s players, three overseas players, two or three England Women’s Academy players, and six or seven county players.

Kent and England skipper Charlotte Edwards will lead for the Vipers including county colleagues Tash Farrant and Lydia Greenway, Laura Marsh and Tammy Beaumont are in the Stars line-up with Gibbs.

All players will receive a standardised match fee for each game that they compete in, plus expenses will be paid to all players throughout the preparation and competition phases.
