New Spitfires T20 shirt has golden touch

Kent Spitfires have unveiled the new NatWest T20 Blast shirt with little more than 100 days until the 15th season of 20-over cricket starts.

The new design succeeds the club’s best-selling shirt of all time and is equally eye-catching with golden Spitfires acknowledging shirt sponsor Spitfire Gold, a light golden ale brewed to mark the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

Shepherd Neame are major sponsors of the club with naming rights to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence and Spitfire has been the Kent Spitfires 20-over shirt sponsor since the inaugural Twenty20 Cup in 2003.

Spitfire brand manager Will Upfield said: “We’re delighted to see the new shirt and cannot wait to see it in the NatWest T20 Blast this summer.

“There are fewer closer partnerships in sport than Kent and Shepherd Neame and we’re delighted the club has marked the 15th season of the sponsorship with such a fantastic design.”

Chloe Snelling, Creative Team Leader at Samurai Sportswear: “We tried to make our new design for the T20 shirt merge traditional colours with modern inspiration.

“The Spitfires have been given a regal look in gold to complement the Spitfire Gold branding. The shirt has been designed back and front to stand out with flouro features as well as having a lot of marble detail when seen close-up.”

Kent Cricket retail manager Barrie Dyer said: “The Spitfires have become popular with supporters and the golden touch adds a new twist to the design.

“The luminous trim is a theme on our 2017/18 Samurai Sportswear white-ball kit and trainingwear which will look brilliant under the floodlights at The Spitfire Ground.”
