The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) today confirmed that Rob Key has received a penalty under the ECB’s discipline code.

Key was reported by umpires Steve O’Shaughnessy and David Millns during Kent’s LV= County Championship match against Leicestershire between May 3 and 6, 2015 for a Level Two breach of the code (showing serious dissent against an umpire’s decision by word or action).

The penalty for this offence is three penalty points. The penalty will remain on his record for a period of two years and the accumulation of nine or more penalty points in any two-year period will result in an automatic suspension.
