Sam Billings: England series ‘a phenomenal experience’
Tuesday 23rd June 2015
Kent wicketkeeper Sam Billings looked ahead to the England v New Zealand NatWest IT20 at Emirates Old Trafford tonight and the visit of the Australians to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.
The 24-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate faced the national media, fresh from a career-best 41 against New Zealand at Chester-le-Street on Saturday which helped England clinch a thrilling Royal London One-Day Cup series 3-2.
Billings said: "It's been a phenomenal experience and one that I'll remember for the rest of my life.
"It's a childhood dream and it's what you get up everyday for. Hopefully it's generated a bit of interest in cricket around the country and got people behind the England cricket team and into the Ashes that's only going to be a good thing."
Sam Billings will return to Kent after the IT20 today and will be available for selection for the four-day tour match against Australia, the opening fixture of the 2015 Ashes tour.
