Sam Billings scores maiden ODI 50 as England win series

Sam Billings hit his maiden one-day international half-century as England sealed a 2-1 series win in Bangladesh.

The 25-year-old Kent Cricket Academy marked his return to the England side by hitting four fours and a six as an opener in place of Surrey’s Jason Roy, who was sidelined by injury.

Billings scored with a variety of shots to all corners of the ground before being caught at deep square leg, trying to sweep off-spinner Mosaddek Hussain.

He shared 50 partnerships with James Vince and Ben Duckett as the tourists chased a target of 278 with 13 balls to spare.

Stand-in skipper Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first at Chittagong after heavy rain cleared in time for the deciding match of the three-match series.
