Sam Billings top-scores in Sydney Sixers BBL defeat

Sam Billings top-scored for Sydney Sixers but his 42 was not enough to prevent a 60-run defeat to Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League.

Chasing 201 to win, he joined Jason Roy (40) at the crease but the duo received little support as the hosts lost regular wickets at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Billings made a watchful start in the sixth over as Roy departed in the following over.

The Kent Cricket Academy graduate struck three boundaries before Shaun Tait struck three times in the 15th over to remove O’Keefe, Abbott and Billings.

Former Kent fast bowler Doug Bollinger was the final man to depart, run out for 1 in the 17th over.

Next up for the Sixers is a home match against Perth Scorchers on Tuesday (27 December) at 8.10am GMT with live TV coverage on BT Sport 2.

The only way to secure your seat today is with a Kent Cricket Membership or Six Pack Package atwww.kentcricketshop.co.ukavailable at Early Bird prices until 31 December 2016.
