Second XI enjoy strong start against MCC Young Cricketers

The second XI started their season in style as a strong side won two T20s against MCC Young Cricketers at The County Ground, Beckenham on Monday.
Kent won the first competitive fixture by eight wickets with Adam Ball starring with bat and ball.
Fielding first, Ball and Matt Hunn took two wickets each with tidy four-over spells for David Griffiths and Imran Qayyum costing just 16 and 18 runs respectively.
Ball completed a fine display with 74 off 49 balls to see Kent home with almost three overs to spare.
In the second T20, Kent batted first and Fabian Cowdrey and Adam Ball got the Spitfires off to a fast start before MCC fought back.
In reply, Matt Hunn took 3/29, David Griffiths claimed 2/33 and Charlie Hartley ended with 1/15 off three overs as Kent won by nine runs.
Ivan Thomas and Charlie Hartley struck three times each with the new ball as Kent dismissed MCC Young Cricketers for 212.
Adam Riley took 2/21 off seven overs and Imran Qayyum and Matt Hunn took a wicket each.
Fabian Cowdrey struck a century and there were half-centuries for Sean Dickson, Adam Ball and Alex Blake as Kent scored 475 for six.
Qayyum was the pick of the bowlers with 2/53 in the second innings before the sides shook hands.
