Second XI lose T20s v Gloucestershire at Polo Farm

Kent’s second XI lost both T20s against Gloucestershire at Polo Farm.

In the first match, Fabian Cowdrey’s 71 off 52 balls was not enough to help Kent chase the visitors’ 141.

Hugh Bernard was the pick of the bowlers with 2/24 from four overs with a  wicket each for David Griffiths and Charlie Hartley.

The spin of Imran Qayyum (0/25) and Fabian Cowdrey (0/28) restricted the scoring in the middle overs.

Scorecard

In the second game, Kent batted first with Gerry Fatouros (56) and Jonno Lewis (34) giving Kent a strong start before losing five wickets for 40 runs.

Dan Smith (20) and Jake Hutson (17*) saw Kent up to 163 for nine.

In reply, Gloucestershire’s Tom Smith smashed 46 off 31 balls and Brandon Gilmour hit 31 off 15 runs to get the visitors ahead of the required run rate.

Imran Qayyum (2/26) put the brakes on by removing Benny Howell and Tom Smith but Gloucestershire made the most of an excellent batting surface to secure a four-wicket win.
