Second XI share spoils in two T20s at Uxbridge

Kent warmed up for the start of the NatWest T20 Blast on Friday with the first of three pairs of 20-over matches this week.
Alex Blake (28) and Fabian Cowdrey (17) smashed 54 off 22 balls to give Spitfires the perfect platform against Middlesex at Uxbridge in the first match with wicketkeeper-batsman Callum Jackson's 38 helping Kent reach 146 for seven.
In reply, Hugh Bernard impressed with 3/18 and James Tredwell and Charlie Hartley took two wickets apiece as Middlesex were restricted to 130 to seal the win for Kent.
In the second match, Middlesex scored 149 for two with Bernard and Hartley the only bowlers to strike.
James Tredwell hit six boundaries in a fine 36 off 26 balls in reply but lost regular wickets in a 29-run defeat.
