Spitfires squad to face Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge

Kent Spitfires travel to Trent Bridge in a bid to bounce back on Monday from their last-ball NatWest T20 Blast exit by reaching the quarter-finals of the Royal London One-Day Cup (2pm start).

They face table-toppers Nottinghamshire Outlaws on Monday in the 50-over format, looking to qualify for the last eight of the tournament for a second successive season.

The Spitfires may require two wins from the Nottinghamshire match and the Warwickshire fixture at Edgbaston on Wednesday (2pm) to finish in the top 4 of Group B and secure a quarter-final spot.

Captain Sam Northeast says the team will use Saturday's defeat as inspiration for a return to winning ways in white-ball cricket.

The 25-year-old batsman, who recently signed a long-term contract extension, said: "There is no doubt we have a squad capable of going on and winning things in one-day cricket.

"We don't want to feel like this again, that's for sure. We need to use this as motivation."
