Support Demelza Hospice’s Go Dotty Week

Kent Cricket is encouraging supporters to take part in the Demelza Hospice's Go Dotty Week.

The annual fundraising event by the club's official charity coincides with National Children’s Hospice Week (Monday 11to Sunday 17May).

Demelza is based in Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, and provides care and support for children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families.

The theme this year is Making Every Moment Count and aims to focus on how precious time is for families by capturing moments in time and showing what real life is like – the positive moments and the more difficult times.

It also aims to show how children’s hospices help support families and enable them to make the most of the time they have with their children.

Demelza is hoping to get plenty of supporters signed up to Go Dotty and get them all taking part in a fun activity to raise money.

Donations can be made throughout The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence during this week's LV= County Championship match againt Glamorgan (Sunday to Wednesday 10-13 May) and NatWest T20 Blast matches v Sussex Sharks on Friday 15 May and v Gloucestershire at The County Ground, Beckenham on Friday 5 June.

You can be as Dotty as you like – wear something Dotty to the game, have a cake sale or tea party at work or get your local school involved by having a Go Dotty Day during the week.

You could even be completely Dotty and abseil down the AcelorMittal Orbit in London’s Olympic Park on Sunday 10May.

Demelza’s head of partnerships Natalie Tegg said: “Our annual Go Dotty Week is a fun way for the community to get involved in raising funds for Demelza.

“We hope to see lots of outrageous photos of people wearing their Dotty outfits to support us.

“All the money raised will make a huge difference to our children and families.”
