Tammy Beaumont joins Community Development Trust as ambassador

Kent and England star Tammy Beaumont has been appointed as an ambassador for the Kent Cricket Development Trust.

The 24-year-old Dover-born bat was an Kent Cricket Academy scholar from 2009 to 2011 and was recalled to the England squad forthetour of South Africa and will promote the charity’s work alongside club captain Sam Northeast.

The 2015 Christ Church Sport player of the year said: "I am really excited to be an ambassador for the Kent Cricket Development Trust. Kent Cricket has provided me with so many great opportunities.

"To bepart of the Trust andbe able to give something back is a pleasure.

“I am passionate about the aims of the Trust and its role in promoting and encouraging community participation and look forward to supporting the work that it does.”

The Trust is an independent charitable trust affiliated to Kent Cricket. It has been set up to promote and encourage community participation in healthy recreation by providing opportunities for the playing of cricket and engaging in physical activity that is capable of improving health.

The Trust starts a series of annual events with a Curry and Quiz Night at 6.30pm on Friday 26 February at Bromley Cricket Club.
