Tredwell returns to England side in consolation ODI win versus India

Kent spinner James Tredwell returned to the England side as they earned a consolation win over India in the fifth and final Royal London One-Day International at Headingley.

After being put into bat by the tourists, England reached 294/7 thanks to a sparkling Joe Root innings (113) and contrbutions from captain Alistair Cook (46) and Jos Buttler (49).

Tredwell continued his good batting form, hitting 8 not out off five balls to add an unbeaten 29 with Ben Stokes (33no) for the seventh wicket.

In reply, India struggled to chase the target and Tredwell bowled five overs as England bowled India out for 253 to win by 41 runs, losing the series 4-1.
