Tunbridge Wells reach National Club T20 Finals Day

Tunbridge Wells reached the National Club T20 Finals Day with a commanding win at Frocester in Gloucestershire.

Wells earned a five-wicket win after the hosts opted to bat first and post a score of 128 for nine: Kent Cricket Academy scholar Marcus O'Riordan was the pick of the attack with 3/19 in four overs.

In reply, Dave Smith was the star of the show with 58 off just 32 balls in an unbroken stand of 76 with Michael Waller for the fifth wicket to see Wells home with three overs to spare.

Tunbridge Wells now face a trip to Derby to contest the National Finals Day at Derby on Tuesday 6 September.

This is the first time a Kent Club has reached the Finals of the ECB National T20 competition.

The other clubs at Finals Day will be Bramhall (Cheshire), Sandiacre (Derbyshire) and Swardeston (Norfolk).
