Player Biography

After spending his entire career with Durham, Mark made the move south in 2012 and immediately put years of injury frustration behind him to win the Kent Player of the Year award during his first season.

The opening-bowler took 53 wickets across all competitions as he formed a formidable new-ball partnership with fellow winter acquisition Charlie Shreck in Championship cricket. His wicket-taking ability is matched by the economical nature of his bowling, regularly building pressure to allow the strike bowlers to shine at the other end.

Much to the delight of the Kent faithful, Mark extended his contract ahead of the 2013 season and continued to show his quality by topping the bowling averages again.

The seamer claimed 25 wickets at an average of 25.16 by deploying his usual line and length method, whilst a season’s best of 41 with the bat came against Leicestershire in the opening round of four-day fixtures.

Davies retired from cricket due to a shoulder injury in September 2014.
